Vision Day 2026
On Saturday, May 30th, members from churches across the High Wycombe Methodist Circuit came together for our Vision Day, spending time reflecting, praying and looking ahead to all that God has in store for us over the coming year.
It was wonderful to welcome friends from every church in the circuit. Throughout the day we shared stories, ideas and encouragement, got to know one another better, and enjoyed lunch together. We also celebrated some of the exciting things that have been happening across the circuit over the past year and introduced our brand new circuit website.
The conversations throughout the day were full of hope and enthusiasm. It was clear that people across our circuit care deeply about their churches, one another, and the communities they serve. There was a real desire to keep finding new and meaningful ways to share God's love, while remaining rooted in prayer and faithful to our calling.
Many people reflected on the balance between valuing the traditions that have shaped us and recognising that some of the ways we do things – or the language we use – may not always connect with younger generations or those who are exploring church for the first time. Rather than seeing this as a problem, there was a shared willingness to listen, learn and be open to change where it helps us welcome others.
Perhaps most encouraging of all was the sense of optimism in the room. Rather than dwelling on challenges, the day was marked by a feeling that God is leading us into a new season—one that calls for courage, creativity, flexibility and a renewed focus on reaching out to our communities with the good news of Jesus.
